EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Campari Group, commissioned us to shoot coverage of their annual growth conference and create three 1 minute films to be shown on the final day of the convention.

CLIENT BACKGROUND

Campari Group are one of the top players in the global beverage industry with a distinct taste for style and a reverence for their rich history. It’s presence can be seen across over 190 countries.

Campari Group's mission revolves around creating lasting value through a balanced combination of organic growth and acquisitions. The company emphasises innovation, quality, and sustainability in its operations. A key part of its strategic vision is to build brand equity while ensuring responsible marketing and consumption of its products.

OBJECTIVES

GOALS: To represent the different elements of the Growth Compass Convention in three engaging and cinematic films for showcase on the conventions final day.

CHALLENGES: Capturing the scope of the convention with a small team and having a 12 hour turnaround to edit the three deliverables.

APPROACH

We studied the outline of the convention and its components and collaborated with the organisers in order to construct a scheduled day that allowed us to capture as much of the convention as possible.

We also kept strict logs of the footage that we captured in order to keep them organised for each different deliverable and make sure our editing was as efficient as possible, given the short turnaround required.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

Pre-Production: Research, regular communication with client.

Production: Filming over a full day of the convention with a small crew (director/producer, two camera operators, editor/data wrangler)

Post-Production: 12 hour turn around after completing shooting at the convention, three uniquely edited deliverables executed for display on the final day of the convention.

SOLUTIONS PROVIDED

We employed the use of multiple cameras to capture as much of the convention as possible. We also operated as a very small crew in order to remain as invisible as possible not disturbing the event.

Our ability to turn around three high quality films within a 12 hour period allowed the participants to relive the convention cementing their learning and experiences on the final day increasing the value of the convention to it’s attendees.

CHALLENGES

Challenges: Coverage of a large convention centre, hosting over 300 top Campari employees, with multiple rooms, speakers and sessions covered. Completing an edit for delivery within a 12 hour time window for immediate showcasing.

Mitigation: Close collaboration with the event organisers and efficient and effective organisation and workflow. The constant supervision of a director across the whole process to ensure a unified and effective final vision in spite of the very tight time scale and vast coverage required.
