EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

CAMPUS, The Campari University, commissioned us to create video content covering their new leadership program “The Spirit of Leadership’. The program is designed to help the companies managing directors develop their leadership skills through thorough and engaging exercises.

Gunpowder House were present with a small crew at the event in Milan capturing each element of the event across three days and produced three deliverables from the resulting footage.

CLIENT BACKGROUND

Campari Group are one of the top players in the global beverage industry with a distinct taste for style and a reverence for their rich history. It’s presence can be seen across over 190 countries.

CAMPUS, is Campari Group’s dedicated corporate university, designed to foster continuous learning, development, and innovation within the organisation. It serves to empower Camparistas (Campari Group Employees) with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to excel in their roles and drive business growth.

OBJECTIVES

GOALS: To capture the essence of the Spirit of Leadership program with a balance of “sizzle and substance”.

CHALLENGES: Making sure to cover the whole of the event and convey the details of what was covered in an engaging way while being unobtrusive to the event itself.

APPROACH

We collaborated closely with the primary organiser of the event at Campari, as well as other high ranking members of the organisation, to establish a concrete vision for the event and final deliverables before arriving to shoot. We then established a small high skilled crew to be based in Milan during the event in order to smoothly and effectively shoot the whole event without hindering the proceedings. We then regularly communicated during post-production in order to create the final deliverables.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

Pre-Production: Concept and story development, event research, travel management.

Production: Filming across three full days in two locations with a small crew, providing stills to the client throughout the shoot.

Post-Production: Editing of three deliverables, graphics, colour grade, sound mix and subtitling.

SOLUTIONS PROVIDED

We utilised multiple cameras to get full coverage of the program while employing cinema grade lenses to ensure a cinematic and engaging images.

We also provided stills of the event to the client in addition to the video content.

The deliverables were used internally for the participants as well as for pitching future editions of the event moving forward. Furthermore, they were used for marketing the program across social media.

CHALLENGES

Challenge: Remaining unobtrusive to the events attendees and facilitators while capturing comprehensive and full coverage of the program.

Mitigation: We employed an experienced camera operators and minimal equipment in order to be mobile and flexible throughout the shoot. We also employed a director/producer to oversee the shoot and communicate with the client to ensure a smooth and amicable process.
